On the morning of December 31^th 2019, the ceremony and press conference of the first "Chengdu-Chongqing Tourism Sharing and Development Cooperation activities" were held in the conference room at the Chongqing Culture and Tourism Development Committee. As special guest of the event, the World Chilli Alliance attended the event together with more than 120 people, including government and association representatives, Chamber of Commerce representatives and agritourism enterprise representatives from Chengdu and Chongqing, and exchanged thoughts on the tourism development in both cities.

The theme of the event was "Innovate Chongqing-Chengdu Cooperation to Promote Tourism Prosperity". The Chairman of Chongqing Agriourism and Agritainment Association Mr Zhong Xinsheng and the Deputy Inspector of Chengdu Federation of Industry and Commerce Mr Han Luxian made opening speeches during the launching ceremony.

Zhong Xinsheng said that the establishment of a development cooperation mechanism in Chengdu and Chongqing will give full play to the driving role of Chongqing and Chengdu, by achieving a win-win outcome for the growth of tourism in both cities.

Han Luxian affirmed that since Chengdu and Chongqing are both located at the junction point of the "One Belt One Road" and "Yangtze River Economic Belt", both cities can give a positive impetus to the development of tourism and to industry exchanges between Chengdu and Chongqing. At the same time, it is also said that Chengdu has always considered the development of rural cultural tourism as the key point of Tianfu development project, not only by introducing tourism development, but also by exporting it abroad. Chengdu Federation of Industry and Commerce provides positive and powerful support to Chengdu-Chongqing tourism cooperation and development.

At the opening ceremony, Chongqing Agritourism Association and the Rural Tourism Branch of Chengdu Tourism Association signed the a strategic cooperation agreement on "Chengdu-Chongqing Tourism Sharing and Development Cooperation Activities". The Deputy Director of Chongqing Culture and Tourism Development Committee Wang Dingguo, the Deputy Inspector of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Committee Sun Huapei and Han Luxian were the three delegates who will be responsible fort he first series activities.

During the conference, a conference aimed to recommend 24 excellent routes of Chengdu-Chongqing as tourist destinations was also launched. The core of this conference is introducing 24 excellent tourist destination routes in Chengdu and Chongqing. With the help of various forms of activities, the Chengdu-Chongqing Tourism Publicity Alliance will be built, resources and passenger flow will be integrated and shared, a route for the whole country will be built in order to increase the flow of people towards tourist destinations and to give an impetus to tourist economy and shape an unique local brand culture.

Zhang Yijin, Secretary General Assistant of WCA, was honored to introduce the mission of WCA to all the government leaders and associations present at the conference as well as to large agritourism enterprises, media and travel agencies. She also recommended Chengdu Qionglai and Chongqing Wulong as tourism routes of both cities, where it is possible to experience natural scenery and have a taste of the local spicy food.

At the same time, Huang Rui, a senior tourist expert and well-known tourism blogger of Chongqing Tuimao Technology New Media, recommended Chongqing's "global tourist destination", including 13 excellent routes such as Wansheng, Banan, Youyang, Tongnan and Fuling.

Mr. Zhang Jiao mentioned that, as the co-organizer of this activity, Chengdu Rural Tourism Industry Chamber of Commerce has formed a "9 + 2" Business Association Consortium (nine local industry associations plus two international NGO organizations – that is World Chilli Alliance (WCA) and Slow Food), and jointly organized and participated in this activity through the "9 + 2" platform. At the same time, the World Chilli Alliance (WCA), as an international NGO, has greatly improved the internationalization of 24 routes in Sichuan and Chongqing, brought more international forces and resources, and further enhanced the international reputation of the first edition of the "Chengdu-Chongqing Tourism Sharing and Development Cooperation Activities".

The first "Chengdu-Chongqing Tourism Sharing and Development Cooperation Activities" was strongly supported by governments and institutions at all levels of Chengdu and Chongqing, and its influence will cover both cities and even the whole country.
